Get the best burn.
Candle Care Guide
A little care goes a long way. Follow this guide to get the safest, longest, and most even burn from every Anora candle.
Before your first burn:
Trim the wick to 5mm before lighting. This keeps the flame steady, reduces soot, and helps prevent tunnelling.
Let the candle burn until the melted wax pool reaches the edges of the jar - usually 2–3 hours for our small apothecary candles. This 'memory burn' prevents tunnelling for the rest of the candle's life. Skipping this step is the most common reason candles burn unevenly.
- Trim the wick to 5mm before each lighting
- Burn for no more than 3–4 hours at a time
- Keep away from drafts, vents, and direct sunlight
- Keep the wax pool free of matches, wick trimmings, and debris
Discontinue use once 10mm of wax remains in the base, or once the wick is too short to trim safely.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended
- Burn on a heat-resistant, flat surface, away from flammable materials
- Keep out of reach of children and pets
- Do not move a candle while the wax is liquid
