ANORA STUDIO candles: hand-poured in Tasmania.
We make candles the way Tasmania makes weather: slowly, and without apology. Each vessel is filled with 100% natural soy wax and scented with the raw, unfiltered character of the island: damp forest floors, salt-cracked cliffs and smoke in the crisp air.
Our Story
We're based in Tasmania, and everything we make is an attempt to bottle what we love most about this incredible island. The embers from an evening fire in Orford. The herbal dew of crisp mornings at Binalong Bay. These aren't moods we invented, they're what it smells like to take a walk outside where we live.
Every candle is hand-poured in small batches, which means slower production and the occasional wait list, but it also means we notice the small details and can finesse them to perfection.
How We Work
Sourced from here. Our wax is 100% natural soy, chosen for a clean, even burn with none of the black soot or synthetic aftertaste of paraffin. Wherever possible, our ingredients and packaging are sourced from within Tasmania.
Made to be reused. Every vessel is designed to outlast the candle — recyclable glass built to be washed out and repurposed as a cup, a planter, a catch-all, once the wax is gone. And sweet little tins you can reuse as you like: fill with your travel cosmetics, or to store little keepsakes.
Poured by hand. Small batches, hand-poured, hand-checked. No mass production line, and no shortcuts.
The Philosophy
We don't think of our candles as home fragrance. We think of them as a pause button. A ritual that you look forward to.
Light one when you walk in the door and want a challenging day behind you. Light one at your desk when you need five minutes before the next thing starts. That's the whole idea: not luxury for its own sake, but a small, repeatable ritual that pulls you back into the room you're actually in.
Anora is made in Tasmania, in small batches, by people who'd rather get it right than get it out fast. We think you'll notice the difference the first time you light one.
